Just before my mother passed, I saw what looked like a grey mist coming from the right side of her neck. It felt like I was witnessing something significant, and I’ve often wondered if it was her life force beginning to leave her body.

What you witnessed is something many people report at the bedside of a dying loved one, even though it’s rarely talked about.
In Angelic Attendants: What Really Happens as We Transition from This Life Into the Next, I explain that during the Twelve Phases of Transition®, the spirit gently begins to separate from the body. This energy is often perceived as a mist or vapor, and it can appear in areas like the head or neck as the transition progresses.
From my perspective, it’s very possible you were seeing your mom’s life force/spirit beginning to release. It’s part of a natural, peaceful process, supported by angels and the spirits of loved ones.
You were witnessing something sacred and your ability to see it speaks to your own intuitive sensitivity.
