Hi Julie,

I have often scoffed at events that have happened even when they were hard to deny. And, at the same time, I have felt my deceased sisters were nearby and trying to communicate with me through these events.

One incident that really got my attention more than 15 years ago involved a pair of blue topaz earrings. They were fine when I put them in the jewelry box and the stones were out of their settings the next time I went to put them on. These earrings are significant to me because my sister asked me to pick out a pair of her earrings to have to remember her and these are the ones I chose. In addition, her son, my nephew, wouldn’t let me near her jewelry after she passed. He cut off all contact with me and other family after the funeral.

Now I’m living in an old house in a different state and it has a gas oven I barely use. At least 4 times the oven has spontaneously turned itself on. One time I felt strongly it was my sisters using what they could to get my attention. Each time it happens, the oven isn’t on for long and goes off on its own.

Is this real contact from my sisters or is the oven broken? Months go by without incident and it seems to occur only when I am thinking of them.

If there is anything you can tell me I would appreciate it very much. I am living on savings and waiting to make a move, just haven’t felt where I’m meant to be or how I am meant to serve for the highest of all who find me. I have just discovered you and am so very grateful.

Welcome to the “Woo-Woo” club! Sounds like you’re doing a terrific job of paying attention to your intuition, something we all have and often question or ignore.

In order to get some answers, I energetically connected to you, saw your sisters and your mother standing beside you and proceeded to ask them a few questions.

First of all, you’re correct. Your sisters and mother are behind the paranormal events you mentioned.

With regard to the Blue Topaz earrings, they told me the stones needed to be reset. They said the prongs weren’t secure and there was a risk of your wearing them and inadvertently losing a stone. They suggested taking the earrings to a jeweler and getting them fixed. They said it should be fairly inexpensive.

As for the oven, they knew it would get your attention and they want you to cook more. They said it would be healthier and less expensive. They mentioned watching you eat a lot of packaged foods.

Lastly, your mom and sisters wanted you to know they’re always around you asked me to teach you how to communicate with them. Here’s how … ask them a question or make a comment either aloud or in your head, then wait for an answer. It will come in the form of a thought within a second. If you think about the answer for more than a couple of seconds, that’ll be your brain answering you. Also, keep in mind, spirits are really literal so be specific when asking for advice.

Baby Saw Spirit

Hi Julie,

I’m hoping you can help me with this.

Recently, my 2 year-old son woke up in the middle of the night so I went to his room to calm him and get him back to sleep.

Once my son was settled, I walked out of his room, shut the door and then headed back into my own room. When I turned around there was something right in front of me. It was very clearly a person but they came and went so fast I couldn’t tell who it was. Can you tell me who it was?

I’ve been practicing talking to a couple different people that have passed so I’m wondering if it was one of them letting me know they are with us.

Hi Carrie,

Congratulations! Great job seeing and acknowledging what clearly sounds like a spirit in your home. Actually, all of us have spirits surrounding us most of the time, and although many people see these deceased loved ones, they never tell anyone fearing someone might think they’re crazy!

So, in order to get some information for you, I first energetically connected to you to see (in my mind’s eye) what spirits were around you and your son.

Once I got you on my radar, the spirits of an older couple instantly appeared. They identified themselves as your maternal great grandparents.

The man had white hair and was wearing a suit and tie while the woman wore a dress, stockings, and pumps and had on a full apron that tied in the back at her waist. They looked like they had just returned from church and were preparing to host a Sunday dinner.

In particular, your great grandfather is very connected to your baby son. And your great grandmother showed me how she sings to your son. Your baby, as is the case with most small children, can and does see them.

We’re all born with intuitive capabilities and begin shutting down these skills around the age of 7. That’s about the time we’re taught by parents and teachers to discount anything that can’t be scientifically proven.

When we encourage our children by listening to them when they describe what we consider to be psychic phenomenon, and most importantly, by believing them, it allows their intuitive skills to mature and develop. Over time this ability will serve them and others in countless ways.

Your great grandmother wants you to get a blanket sleeper for your baby so he stays warm at night, and your great grandfather wants you to get your furnace serviced before next winter.

One last thing, always remember, every spirit is pure love and light. If seeing or sensing a spirit scares you, just ask them to leave and they will.

Missing Aunt

My aunt mysteriously disappeared from her family as a late teen and her whereabouts and body were never found.

I feel deeply connected to her and wonder if you have any information on what happened to her.

Hi Natalie,

Thanks for your kind comments.

In order to see what I could learn about your aunt, I first connected to you and then from you to her.

She is deceased and her spirit immediately showed up right next to you.

Your aunt said she left town with a guy and moved to Pennsylvania.

Both she and her boyfriend were killed in a car accident near Scranton, Pennsylvania. She said she was 19 when she died.

Since the authorities couldn’t identify her, they were unable to notify her family.

Your aunt is often around you and said she thinks you look like her. She also said you take care of everyone and that she wants you to stop putting others’ needs before your own.

And, she asked me to teach you how to talk with her.

Just ask your aunt a question in your mind or aloud. You will instantly hear her answer in your head. If you wait longer than a second or two, that’ll be your brain answering you. The more you practice communicating with your aunt or any deceased loved one, the better you’ll get at receiving (and believing) their answers.

Heart Stop

Hi Julie,

The internet is a wonderful thing. Through a series of podcasts and health and fitness related blogs, I found your podcasts and website. I’m enjoying listening to your shows.

In one of your early podcasts you mentioned a book. I was driving and unable to write the name. Was it was something about wings? I couldn’t find the title on your blog or in the show notes.

I’m a registered nurse, and very much believe in the spirits that surround us. I used to practice Therapeutic Touch, but I have been busy raising my children and not practicing.

My mother in-law died almost 3 years ago, and I stayed with her in palliative care for about a week before she passed (she lived in a different city).

The night before she died, she was restless (not speaking at this point). I sensed fear and held her hand for part of the night (I was lying in a cot next to her bed).

I have 2 questions about this:

1) Do spirits leave the body before the heart stops? I felt like she left that night (not the next evening when her heart stopped).

2) Spirit-wise, is she something else besides my mother in-law in this life? I have felt her presence several times over the last 2.5 years, especially when I was competing in a triathlon about 6 months after she died.

I believe she knows how much her grandchildren and I miss her.

I’m delighted you found my podcast and to hear from you. Thanks for your kind words about the show.

Regarding your questions, spirits depart after the heart stops beating and your mother-in-law is always around you, your children, and other loved ones. She is basically the same, only now she’s without her body. Any (what we humans perceive to be negative personality traits) are now non-existent. They stay with the body. In spirit form, your mother-in-law (like all of us) is a limitless being of pure positive love and acceptance.

What a loving, kind, wonderful gift you gave your mother-in-law by staying with her and doing something as simple as holding her hand while she was dying.

Many of us are afraid of death. Watching a loved one go through the dying process is unnerving, especially because it forces us to confront our own mortality. We like to have control of our lives and our environment, and we often find not knowing an outcome to be frightening. After all, humans interpret ambiguity as a bad thing, when it’s simply just a lack of information.

It has been my experience both personally and with countless friends and clients that the dying process always contains a glorious component. What’s better than having your loved one be surrounded by angels, their deceased family, friends, and pets’ spirits and to have an angelic escort to Heaven?

Also, the book I mentioned during an earlier show was Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan, PhD.

Dr. Brennan is a former NASA physicist who was able to make complicated energetic theories understandable for those of us with non-scientific minds. She founded an accredited healing arts school where people come from all over the world to study her methods. You can even get a Bachelor’s degree there.

Hands of Light was a book that launched my interest in energy medicine more than 20 years ago and happened to be the first text book used when I began my medical intuitive education.

I am a graduate of the School of Healing Arts in Nashville, TN and was taught by a graduate of Dr. Brennan’s school, Susan Austin-Crumpton.

Yellow Rose Connection

I have just found your show. It’s amazing. The first show I listened to was the dad passing and the yellow roses.

My dad had just passed about 10 days before that and he had yellow roses at his funeral.

The moment I heard the story, I had an overwhelming feeling to go get a yellow rose bouquet for my mom and to tell her dad was well. He passed from cancer.

So many things from your show have touched a chord in me.

My question is … my mother is also fighting cancer for the 3rd time.

What is the best treatment for her right now?

Will she beat this again and what can I do for her? Thank you for your time.

My condolences on the loss of your father. It is amazing how our deceased loved ones get information to us.

Your hearing Allie’s story about her recently deceased dad asking her to give yellow roses to her mom and to say they were from him was how your dad got a message to you. Nothing is a coincidence. Just proves how we’re all connected.

As for your mom and her health situation, I attempted to do a scan on her. First I connected to you then from you to her. When I psychically asked her permission to scan her, she refused, so I didn’t do one.

Your mother told me she feels you have had enough stress in your life and don’t need to worry about her too.

She said she just wants your love. She also said she’d appreciate your helping her make this year’s Christmas holidays the “happiest ever” (her words).

Your mother told me she’d like to do holiday activities with you. Go to Christmas concerts and events. She said they don’t need to cost anything. The free ones would be fine. you might want to check out activities at local churches. You may find several free Christmas concerts/pageants/activities put on by the churches’ congregations.

I’ll be delighted to scan your mom in the future if she wants me to.

Miscarried Baby

One of the things that has been really hard was that I miscarried at 11 weeks and never found out the sex of my child.

Can you tell me what sex my child was and what has happened with them? Thanks.

My condolences on the loss of your baby.

When I got you on my radar, I could see what looked like a newborn infant wrapped in a receiving blanket with bunnies on it next to you. Your baby was a girl.

She wanted me to let you know that everything unfolded perfectly. She told me she wanted to experience what it was like to be a miscarried fetus, and you wanted to experience what it was like to miscarry. You both got your wish.

Your daughter told me she had a genetic mutation/malfunction that caused the miscarriage. Although you may already know this, your baby wanted me to tell you what happened was perfectly normal.

Miscarriages are nature’s method of making sure the human species survives. She said miscarriages are way more common than we think. It’s just that most women aren’t aware they’ve miscarried.

Your baby’s spirit is always around you. So far, she has not reincarnated. She told me you two have been together in 73 previous lifetimes and will be together in many more.

You can talk with her anytime you wish. Just ask her a question in your head. Her answer will be the first thing that pops into your head. If the answer takes more than a couple of seconds, that’s your brain answering you.

Cousin A.J.

Hi Julie,

My cousin A.J. (who was like a big brother to me) died in June of this year. He was 46.

It was sudden. He fell down his basement stairs, suffered blunt force trauma to his head and died at the hospital.

His death was a shock to the whole family and to all of his friends.

I just wanted to know if he is watching over his kids and his mother and if he suffered since he wasn’t found until the next morning by his 14 year-old son.

Also, does he have any advice for me regarding my life?

Hi Michelle,

My condolences on the loss of your cousin.

When I first connected to you, A.J. was standing next to you on your right side.

He told me he blacked out which caused the fall down the basement steps. He also told me he wasn’t ever in pain because he was unconscious the whole time.

Interestingly enough, he said he died in the middle of the night. Since you mentioned he died the next morning at the hospital, I asked him for clarification.

A.J. then corrected himself and said his spirit evacuated his body in the middle of the night but didn’t leave until he was at the hospital. Remember, spirits are very literal.

Ricky & Ralphie

I got two kittens about 12 years ago. I was looking for one cat but they were holding each other so tightly that I got them both. The Petco rescue person told me they were brothers.

Well, one of the most painful things I ever had to do was to have one of my cats (Ralphie) cremated last August.

He developed diabetes and doctors said he would have deteriorated and it would have been difficult to take care of him.

My question is about his brother Ricky who never showed any sadness about the event. He has not looked for his brother or anything.

I was just wondering what he understands about the situation?

Also, I wondered if Ralphie (the cat that passed) is still around and knows that he was loved dearly.

Hi Corey,

What a great question.

The reason Ricky isn’t missing Ralphie is because Ralphie is still there, only now, he’s transitioned into spirit form.

Animals and especially small children (under the age of 4) are very intuitive. They can sense spirits, both human and animal, when we mortals are unable to. Cats in particular are known to be very psychic.

I’ve lost count of the number of times a cat owner has told me about a situation where all of a sudden their animal gets agitated without a viable cause. And then there are the stories about a cat slowly turning its head from side to side like it’s watching someone walk across the room when no one is visible. In that scenario, the cat is sensing a spirit.

Every pet owner acknowledges how much we learn from our animals. This is a case in point. When a loved one or a beloved pet dies, they remain with us, just in spirit form.

And, Ralphie did know he was deeply loved.

What a beautiful and interesting picture.

The red arches behind your daughter and her husband are part of an energetic canopy of protection always covering them. The red arches visible in this photo are only one section of several arches that comprise the scaffolding of an iridescent energy field that moves with your family members. It is the result of many years of prayer by your daughter’s paternal grandmother in which she has asked for protection of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The power of prayer is immeasurable. It is a great way to positively influence the energy surrounding our lives and the lives of those we love.

Also, it’s interesting to note, today’s digital cameras are very capable of capturing energetic images like these red arches. Most of us have seen orbs in family photographs. They are almost always the energy of deceased loved ones around us. When you see these types of phenomena in pictures, realize it’s confirmation you are surrounded by love from the deceased as well as the living.
