Susan from Coral Gables, FL, asked:
Hello Julie,
I have been listening to your show for the past few months and have really been enjoying the topics you discuss.
Recently, my grandson passed away at birth due to cord compression. Our family is heartbroken, and my son and daughter-in-law are deeply traumatized by this loss.
My question is: Why did this happen? Why would his soul choose to leave so soon?
I would be grateful for any insight you can provide. Thank you for all that you do.
Thanks,
Susan
Hi Susan,
My deepest condolences to you, your son, daughter-in-law, and your entire family.
From a human perspective, it can be impossible to understand why such a heartbreaking tragedy occurs, especially when it involves a baby or young child.
From a spiritual perspective, however, I’ve been told by countless spirits that we each choose when, where, to whom, and under what circumstances we are born. The same is true for when we transition from this life. These experiences are part of what a soul, (and often the souls connected to it), wishes to explore and learn during a lifetime.
Past lives may also play a role. It’s possible that your newborn grandson, your family, and you have shared experiences together in other lifetimes and have explored different aspects of a similar scenario from various perspectives. Perhaps the baby was once a parent, grandparent, sibling, or loved one of a child who passed in a similar way. Experiencing situations from different viewpoints expand a soul’s understanding, compassion, and growth.
While the grief your family is experiencing is undoubtedly profound, please know that your grandson’s spirit remains close to all of you. Simply think of him or speak to him, either aloud or silently in your mind. His response will come as the first thought, feeling, memory, or impression that enters your awareness, sometimes before you’ve even finished expressing your own thought.
Please share this free digital and audiobook download of my book, Angelic Attendants, with your family. My hope is that it provides information, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.
Sending big hugs,
Julie
