Manifest Your Desires

Barbara from Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands, asked:

Dear Julie,

I stumbled onto your site and decided to ask you a question.

I am a 63 year-old bodyworker, coach, healer and private cook without any clients.

At the moment, although I’m not depressed, I am so very tired of not having any clients and don’t know what the point of it all is.

Do you have any insight about this for me?

With love and light,

Barbara

Hi Barbara,

I’m delighted you found my website, followed your guidance and submitted a question.

At any given moment, each of us has a multitude of spiritual advisors offering suggestions on how we may live a more joyful experience. The key is learning to heed the advice we’re given.

Just like it says in the Bible, “Ask, and it shall be given; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you,” all we have to do is ask and the answers we’re longing to hear will be provided.

Having said all that, you may be wondering how we actually accomplish this task. It’s really quite simple. Ask a question either aloud or in your head. The answer will immediately be provided in the form of a thought. You see, spirits communicate telepathically. What we may think is our brain talking to us, is actually spiritual guidance coming in through our brain in the form of a thought. It happens instantly, within a second. If you think about the answer for more than a couple seconds, that will be your brain answering you. And remember, spirits are very literal so be as specific as possible when asking a question.

Regarding your comment about the point of it all, perhaps this time in your life is allowing an opportunity for you to strengthen your intuitive abilities.

As for your not having any clients, you may want to begin focusing on what you want and do your best to refrain from thinking about your current situation (what you don’t want). I know, easier said than done, and I also know this technique really works.

Get clear about how you want your life to be, ask for guidance, hear it, and then most importantly, act on the guidance you receive. An example may be you get a thought to network within your community. That would be the guidance part. The action steps related to this guidance may include placing an ad in your local paper, talking with management at a neighborhood market to see if they have customers who’ve mentioned they’re looking for a private chef, investigating metaphysical shops to see if they allow people to give presentations to customers. The possibilities are endless.

Take it one step at a time. Receive guidance and act on it. More guidance will be given, act on that guidance and so on. Be amazed and thrilled when your desire manifests. Enjoy the adventure.

Hope this information helps. Good luck!

Lawsuit

Lisa from Odenville, AL, asked:

Hi Julie,

We hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Our court date is quickly approaching and our attorney contacted us with an extremely low offer from the company we’re suing (plaintiff). Our attorney asked what would make us happy and we are supposed to communicate with him soon.

We have told the truth about everything. I could have been killed by this company being extremely negligent and I have had issues with terrible anxiety since the event happened (actually there were two events).

We’re not sure what anxiety and stress are worth and our attorney doesn’t believe they will offer anything over $60,000. The company we’re suing caused approximately $12,000-$15,000 in damage to our property in addition to the anxiety and stress this nightmare has created.

What are your thoughts and suggestions about our situation?

Thank you for your time and thank you for your podcast!

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your sweet holiday wishes. My family and I had a wonderful time together.

Regarding your pending legal issue, I have a few thoughts I’ve gathered from personal experience and from your spirit guides.

First, when I asked your spirit guides if it was in your best interest to settle the case, I “got” a YES. When I asked if your current lawyer was competent and acting in your best interest, I also “got” a YES. I then asked if you would realize a higher amount of money settling the case than proceeding to trial, I also “got” a YES.

The American Bar Association says 97% of all civil cases are settled prior to going to trial. In your case, I imagine the plaintiff’s insurance company is the one offering a settlement. Every good negotiator will start with a low offer and go up from there if necessary. In addition, insurance companies will always do their best to avoid going to trial. It’s expensive and risky. They don’t want to pay attorney fees or risk a sympathetic jury siding with you and awarding some astronomical sum to you.

Now, here’s my take. As you may know, I am a businesswoman and entrepreneur. During my career over the past almost four decades, I’ve had a fair amount of experience dealing with attorneys and a variety of legal matters including trial experience. In January of 1990, I spent 10 days in Federal Court when I sued a multi-billion-dollar global corporation for breach of contract and won! I’ve also been involved in a couple of other lawsuits I initiated and settled those satisfactorily.

I suggest you settle your case for as much as you can without going to trial. Although there are settlement calculators available online, it’s hard to prove and put a monetary value on emotional suffering.

In addition, it’s very expensive to have your case be tried in a court. It’s a crap shoot because attorney fees and expenses quickly add up and the plaintiffs will normally have way more financial resources than you. They will stretch out the proceedings with delays, changes of venue, etc. as much as possible with the hope you’ll run out of money.

At the end of the day, your legal fees and expenses will be minimized by settling sooner rather than later and you’ll most likely end up with more money in your bank account.

Hope this information helps. Good luck!

Christmas Ghosts

As I was preparing for the last show of 2019, I wondered why spirits, angels and ghosts were prevalent in Christmas stories.

The most famous story of all, the nativity, talks about an angel appearing to Mary to let her know she’d conceive a child, an angel appearing to the shepherds to let them know the Christ child had been born and an angel appearing to Joseph to tell him to go home via a different route because King Herod was killing male babies.

And then, we all know the famous Dickens Christmas Carol published in 1843 about a snarky old man named Ebenezer Scrooge who was visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.

In recent years, many movies and television shows utilize the Christmas ghost theme. Downton Abbey did a Christmas episode that featured a Ouija board that communicated a message from a dead character and the Hallmark channel had several Christmas movies depicting spirits and deceased loved ones showing up.

It seems our fascination with ghostly tales around Christmas time goes back thousands of years and is rooted in ancient celebrations of the winter solstice. In the depths of winter, pagan traditions included a belief in a ghostly procession across the sky, known as the Wild Hunt. The Germanic people celebrated a Yuletide festival during the Wild Hunt and yule logs were burned by the Celts during the winter solstice to ward off evil spirits.

Likewise, the Victorians popularized many familiar British Christmas traditions that have been emulated in America including Christmas trees (originated in Germany), cards, carols and roast turkey. They also customized the winter ghost story, relating it specifically to the festive season.

It seems from the beginning of time, all civilizations, religions and cultures reference ghosts, spirits, and angels. And whether or not a person believes in these entities, everyone knows about them. Why is that?

I believe it’s because talking about ghosts, spirits and angels connects us to the past, present and future just like Charles Dickens did in his Christmas Carol story. Our humanness is fleeting while our spirits are eternal. They’re who we really are … limitless beings of pure love.

Thank you for enhancing my life and for allowing me to be a tiny part of your life. I’m grateful our paths have crossed and look forward to shared adventures ahead.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Moon and Twelve

As I write this on December 11, 2019, there is a gorgeous full moon rising. Experts say it will hit its brilliance peak at 12:12 am EST on 12/12. Now that’s a lot of twelves and my curiosity was piqued.

Wiki says, “The number twelve has carried religious, mythological and magical symbolism, generally representing perfection, entirety, or cosmic order in traditions since antiquity.”

It seems the number 12 shows up a lot, especially in our Western culture and most likely stems from the historical influence of Judeo-Christian traditions.

There are 12 apostles in the New Testament of the Bible and each one represents the 12 tribes of Israel. The ancient Greeks worshiped the 12 gods of Olympus. There are 12 eggs in a dozen, 12 Days of Christmas, 12 inches in a foot, 12 ribs on the average human, 12 months in a year, 12 animal signs in the Chinese Zodiac and exactly 12 people have walked on the surface of the moon. You get the idea.

Mathematicians claim 12 is a sublime number because it has a perfect number of divisors, and the sum of its divisors is also a perfect number. That’s way too complicated for my remedial math brain!

And what about the full moon? Does the moon’s gravitational pull affect anything other than tides? Is there any significance to claims about higher rates of crime, emergency room admissions and surgical mistakes, during a full moon? Even though researchers don’t agree, my medical provider and law enforcement friends sure think there’s a correlation.

At the end of the day, the thing that resonated the most with me is in numerology, the number 12 signifies completion.

So, regardless of what you believe, how superstitious or dismissive of the 12-12 on 12-12 phenomena you are, it’s fun to learn about ancient cultures and their traditions.

I for one, am settling on the completion concept. It’s the end of the year, the end of another decade, and time to be grateful for everything I’ve experienced so far as I look forward to new adventures. Hope you take the opportunity to do the same!

Elderly Behavior Challenges

Tonya from Greensboro, NC, asked:

Hi Julie,

I am dealing with what one might call a frivolous problem, but it is causing me a lot of pain.

My husband, son, and I moved in with my in-laws because their health began to decline. My mother-in-law had a stroke in 2014, broke her ankle a year later, and broke her pelvis the year after that.

Anyway, she has been terribly mean to me. She is hateful to everyone, but the worst to our son and me. She is manipulative and self-centered. She says I don’t keep her house clean enough and she looks for things to pick at me about. Everyone who visits comments about our clean house and she disagrees with them.

She didn’t want to move to an assisted living facility so we rented our home. The rental income has helped us financially, but I don’t know what to do about her. Why does she act this way?

Now granted, she has always been snooty and self-centered, but this is to the 100th power! Does she have a demon?

Julie, please give me some advice. Please.

Thank you,

Tonya

Hi Tonya,

With the holidays quickly approaching, yours is a timely question, one that looks like it applies year-round to you.

Not only do many of us care for elderly relatives, it seems like during the holidays, unpleasant behavior can be exacerbated with activities, additional visitors and the stress of all that comes with trying to make everything perfect for our families.

First and foremost, your mother-in-law isn’t possessed by a demon. Since all spirits are pure love, I don’t believe demonic possessions exist.

Please remember, no one can create in another person’s reality because no one can control another person’s thoughts. Keep that in mind as you go through your daily activities around her. Do your best to create whatever story you need to make yourself feel better. Change your perspective to see her as a person who is hurting. Wonder what caused her to act this way and what has happened to her to make her so fearful? Is she in pain and if so what can be done to minimize her pain?

In the meantime, here are a few suggestions you might find helpful. They come from Daniel Amen, MD, a double board-certified psychiatrist and pertain to the holidays and all year:

1) Keep Your Cool – Stay calm and others are more likely to model your behavior.

2) Build A Bridge – Do your best to look at the situation from the other person’s perspective. This can head off an argument before one has the chance to happen.

3) Distract Yourself – Hum a tune, think of happy thoughts, do whatever you need to do to avoid being drawn into the drama.

4) Take A Time-Out – Go to a separate part of the house for 10-15 minutes to cool off and not engage in the argument or discussion.

5) Try Whispering – The dramatic change in the decibel level of your voice will make everyone pay attention to what you’re saying as you attempt to diffuse the situation.

6) Take It Outside – When things get tough, either remove yourself or try to get everyone to go outside for some fresh air and exercise.

At the end of the day, as previously mentioned, the only thing we can control is our thoughts which means we all have the ability to keep anyone from ruining our experience.

Good luck!

Egyptian Royalty

Cindy from Aiken, SC, asked:

Hi Julie,

It’s Cindy from South Carolina. I’m 41 year-old immigrant who moved to the United States 30 years ago.

I was wondering if you could tell me anything about my former lives.

I’ve been on a spiritual journey for the past couple years practicing principles of the law of attraction, studying about the power of positive affirmations, feung shui, the chakras, reiki, raising my vibration, and listening to everything I can about manifesting wealth and prosperity.

And, as crazy as this might sound, I’ve always felt as though I was once a queen of Egypt or part of some type of royalty.

Even though I can’t explain it, I feel a strong connection to Egypt and although I’ve never been there, it’s on my bucket list of places to visit.

Are you able to tell me about my past life and if in fact there’s any connection to Egypt or even royalty?

I truly appreciate your guidance and knowledge and enjoy listening to your podcast every Thursday night.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Welcome to the Woo-Woo Club! It sounds like you’re really learning a lot about a multitude of spiritual and law of attraction topics. You’re on a fascinating journey.

Regarding a past life in Egypt, I first connected to you and then asked the question whether you’d ever been a member of the Egyptian royal family. The answer I “got” was yes, in 1794, as the wife of a lesser prince who was a cousin of the ruler Mohammed Pasha of the Ottoman Empire. You lived in what is modern-day Cairo.

In addition, I “got” you’ve lived at least 17 past lives in Egypt which would explain your fascination with the country.

Please consider enrolling in my Angelic Attendant Training class and you’ll learn how to discover this type of information yourself.

Hope you get to visit Egypt someday and check off that bucket list item!

Climate Change

Amber from Howard, OH, asked:

Hello Julie,

I love your podcast. I listen to it all the time since finding out about you. Your show is amazing and so are you.

I am feeling a little lost and confused and don’t know which job I should pick.

Recently, I received a job offer with great pay but the problem is that I live a ways from it. I don’t mind the drive when it’s not snowing.

I just feel like I will have great opportunities with this job if I choose to take it. It is a very large nationwide company so I could relocate just about anywhere in the U.S. if I ever wanted to which I do.

I can’t take Ohio winters anymore! Please help me regarding this new job offer and if it is in my best interest to move to Florida in the next year?

Thank You,

Amber

Hi Amber,

Thanks for your kind words about the show and me and for submitting a question.

Congratulations on your job offer!

Since I grew up in Ohio, I completely understand your wanting to relocate to a warmer climate where it doesn’t snow. Now that’s what I call Climate Change!

Regarding your job offer, I “get” it’s in your best interest to take the job even though you’ll have to drive farther than you may be used to. You can use the “windshield” time to listen to podcasts, audiobooks, etc. and learn just about anything. Think of your car as a traveling university.

In addition, I’m “getting” your new employer may let you work remotely from home when the weather gets dicey and I agree with you that it can facilitate your moving to a new city.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know what you decide.

A Son’s Passing

Sarah from Louisville, KY, asked:

Hi Julie,

My son passed away from autoerotic asphyxiation almost 10 months ago. My question is this … did he die this way by accident, and was this his or our soul plan? I’m struggling to get my mind around that, even though I’m a believer in soul plans.

I’ve also had the thought that I helped to manifest his passing.

I didn’t want him to die, but I did want relief from the struggles in our relationship. He was 16. I hope he’s okay. I was told he was confused that he died and didn’t accept it right away.

I’m functioning pretty well only because I believe intellectually that he transitioned and is still with me. I want so badly to have a visit from him. I may have had a few spirit winks from him, but not for a while now.

Thank you for any advice or message you can give me!

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

My condolences on the passing of your son. I can’t even imagine what you’ve been going through.

In order to get some information for you, I first energetically connected to you and from you to your son. He was standing next to you at your right shoulder.

Your son told me his death was an accident and that it was his soul’s plan.

We all decide when, where, how and who’s with us when we die. I don’t believe it’s a preordained plan, rather, it’s a decision our soul makes about how to exit this lifetime. Funeral directors have countless stories about loved ones waiting to die until someone sitting with them leaves the room to get a cup of coffee.

Please know, we cannot create in someone else’s reality, only in our own. You didn’t cause him to manifest his death, you don’t have the ability to do that to anyone but yourself.

Your son also told me he is around you all the time. You can summon him just by thinking of him. Likewise, when he’s close by, you’re likely to think of him. It works both ways.

If you want to communicate with him, just say something to him either aloud or in your head. His response will come as a thought you think. It’ll happen instantly. The more you practice, the better you’ll get at communicating with him.

Lastly, please consider reading my book Angelic Attendants: What Really Happens As We Transition From This Life Into The Next. I believe it will inform you about how he was surrounded by angels and deceased loved ones at the time of his passing (and still is) and I believe you’ll find the stories about families with whom I’ve worked comforting.

By the way, scientific research has corroborated what I discuss in my book … how we’re surrounded by angels and deceased loved ones and pets. It seems many people are experiencing what I call the “Twelve Phases of Transition”.

Hope this gives you some peace. Sending big hugs your way!

Goblins, Ghosts and Ghouls

For many people young and old, Halloween is a magical if not scary time of the year, one that brings back lots of memories.

My most prevalent memory of Halloween was when I was a freshman in college and my older brother Jay took me to see the movie Halloween. It scared the daylights out of me and caused him to hysterically laugh each time I screamed or jumped in my seat out of fear.

Then of course, I have many memories of my son Jonathan as a small child in his Halloween costumes each year. Whether he was Captain Hook, King Arthur, or a shark, he, like most children, was delighted with the whole celebration.

What is the origin of Halloween and how did it get to be such a big deal? And where do ghosts, black cats, and witches fit in?

Halloween dates back over 2,000 years ago to a Celtic festival called Samhain. It was celebrated on the final day of the Celtic calendar, October 31st each year and was viewed as a time when the living and dead would interact with one another. People would light bonfires, dress in costumes and wear masks hoping the spirits would think they too were spirits and leave them alone.

In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III chose November 1 to honor every saint. All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain and the evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween.

Ghosts are considered to be souls of the dead, a ghoul is a creature that supposedly eats stolen corpses and a goblin is a mischievous sprite or elf. As for the fear of black cats, it dates back to the Middle Ages when people believed witches could turn themselves into black cats in order to disguise themselves.

Today as we consider studies like those done by Dr. Gary Schwartz at the University of Arizona who says, “University-based scientific research has now definitively demonstrated that life continues after bodily death”, combined with Dr. Christopher Kerr’s research about hospice patients seeing visions of their deceased loved ones as they approach death, to countless studies about Near Death Experiences (NDE) and we realize we’re able to validate what we’ve intuitively known all along, that spirits do exist.

While religions and cultures have used the concept of evil spirits to control the masses throughout time and the entertainment and publishing industries have used evil spirits to sell movies and books, it’s important to remember ALL spirits are limitless beings of pure love.

So, dress up in whatever costume suits you. Bob for apples, eat all the candy your stomach can hold and remember while you’re celebrating Halloween, that your deceased loved ones are always around you supporting and loving you. And there’s nothing scary about that!
