I was just wondering if you had any messages from my son Lance. He passed away 2 years ago from an accidental overdose at the age of 31. He was in treatment at the time and I’m still grieving so, so much!!
Lance and I were super close and I need to hear from him.

Hi Laura,
I’m so sorry to hear about Lance. I can’t even begin to imagine the depth of your grief.
Dr. Lenore Matthew’s research suggests that communicating with a loved one’s spirit can be one of the most effective ways to heal. There are several ways to do this:
- Talk to Lance’s spirit directly – speak to him aloud or silently, and trust that the first thought you hear is his response.
- Connect through a medium like me, who can help facilitate communication.
- Ask Lance to visit you in your dreams.
- Try automatic writing – use a pen and paper to write him a letter and allow the words to flow from you to him and him to you.
When I reached out to Lance, he shared, “Mom, I’m always with you. Even in your grief, you’re blossoming like a beautiful flower.” He also thanked you for caring for his dog, adding, “He can see me. Watch his head move, even when no one else is in the room.”
You might also find comfort through Helping Parents Heal, an organization that offers support to grieving parents.
