Sunnie from Palm Beach, FL, asked:
Hi Julie,
I’m 64 years-old, cry often, feel lonely and don’t know why.
My family moved to Oregon about a year ago but that shouldn’t affect me this much.
I’ve always had a lot of friends and acquaintances. I stay busy all day pursuing my passions … photography, art and writing however, it’s the night, that long night, that’s so hard for me. I lie in bed and think how alone I am.
It seems like I have lost a lust for life. My health is fairly good and the only time I don’t feel depressed is when I am hugging or even thinking about Lancelot, my 5-pound Cocker Spaniel. I truly believe he is my angel.
Can you please give me some insight about what’s happening to me? I love God and say the Rosary every morning to try to get me out of this funk.
Thank you.
Sunnie
Hi Sunnie,
Sorry to hear you’re feeling so lonely.
In order to get some information for you, I connected to you in Florida and got you on my radar.
The first thing that became apparent to me was how depleted your hormones were. You looked like a post-menopausal woman who hadn’t seen estrogen in decades. This situation can absolutely cause depression issues.
To help you feel better in the short run, I added energetic estrogen to your body and you perked right up.
Please consider exploring bioidentical hormones. They’re what our bodies manufacture when we’re young and fertile and they can keep our bones, brains, hearts and whole body healthy.
A great place to start is by reading The Wisdom of Menopause by Christiane Northrup, MD. As a board certified OB/GYN, I believe Dr. Northrup is the “fairy godmother” of women’s health and we can all learn a lot from her. You can also find more information from her website drnorthrup.com.
To find a practitioner in your area, please go to The Institute For Functional Medicine or the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Hope this information helps and hope you’re feeling better soon.
