Julie Ryan

Past Life Love

Michael from Biloxi, MS, asked:

Hi Julie,

So here is my situation. My wife and I have had some rocky times over the last several months and have almost split.

I’m almost ashamed to admit this, but several weeks ago another girl and I started chatting on Facebook, mainly about paranormal stuff.  Strangely enough, we really hit it off and were chatting daily.

I don’t know what it is, but we just had this unbelievable connection. We both felt it and we also felt familiar to each other, like we knew each other in another life or something.

Even stranger, she is from Venezuela and we still hit it off amazingly. We have even video chatted a few times.

I’m feeling the weight of guilt here, but I’m also floored by the unbelievable and indescribable connection we have.

I would like to ask my Spirit Guides why I have this amazing connection with this person at this time? I’ve truly never felt a connection as strong as this.

Also, do we have some kind of past life connection?  We both feel this could be the case.

Sadly, at the same time, I have felt a disconnection with my wife. I’m at a loss about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your question. Although these feelings and sensations are new to you, they’re not uncommon.

Were you and Miss Venezuela together in a past life? Yes, many past lives.

Among other things, you have been her mother, sibling, colleague, spouse, and acquaintance which explains the close connection you sense. It’s quite probable you’re experiencing a type of déjà vu memory that can’t be explained with rational thinking.

In addition, it sounds like fantasy is a big part of the equation. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines fantasy as, “The power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need.”

You mentioned your marriage is experiencing “rocky times”. That may indicate you might be satisfying an emotional or psychological need with this online relationship, one that could foster addictive even irrational behavior.

Licensed clinical psychologist Steven Kimmons, Ph.D., of Loyola University Medical Center said, “One spouse connects online with someone. The person is emotionally available, and they start communicating through Facebook. Within a short amount of time, the sharing of personal stories can lead to a deepened sense of intimacy, which in turn can point the couple in the direction of physical contact.”

Studies show Facebook is cited in 1 out of every 5 divorces in the United States and according to a survey by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, (AAML), 81% of the attorneys polled said they have seen an increase in the number of cases involving social media evidence.

Family Law Attorney Larry Hance says, “Lawyers and clients arrive more and more often at the courtroom (or attorney’s office) armed with records from Facebook and social media. Any online activity—including email and text messages—is admissible evidence in Court.”

One more point. Last year, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) warned romance-related scams are now the most costly form of online fraud. Losses from online-dating-related fraud quadrupled in recent years, ballooning from $33 million lost in 2015 to $143 million lost in 2018. Has this woman asked you for money yet?

Just because you’ve been together in past lives doesn’t mean she’s ethical in this one!

Your spirit guides advise discontinuing your online relationship with Miss Venezuela and concentrating on fixing your marriage. Your current family is where you’re best suited at this moment in time.

I agree!
