Climate Change

Amber from Howard, OH, asked:

Hello Julie,

I love your podcast. I listen to it all the time since finding out about you. Your show is amazing and so are you.

I am feeling a little lost and confused and don’t know which job I should pick.

Recently, I received a job offer with great pay but the problem is that I live a ways from it. I don’t mind the drive when it’s not snowing.

I just feel like I will have great opportunities with this job if I choose to take it. It is a very large nationwide company so I could relocate just about anywhere in the U.S. if I ever wanted to which I do.

I can’t take Ohio winters anymore! Please help me regarding this new job offer and if it is in my best interest to move to Florida in the next year?

Thank You,

Amber

Hi Amber,

Thanks for your kind words about the show and me and for submitting a question.

Congratulations on your job offer!

Since I grew up in Ohio, I completely understand your wanting to relocate to a warmer climate where it doesn’t snow. Now that’s what I call Climate Change!

Regarding your job offer, I “get” it’s in your best interest to take the job even though you’ll have to drive farther than you may be used to. You can use the “windshield” time to listen to podcasts, audiobooks, etc. and learn just about anything. Think of your car as a traveling university.

In addition, I’m “getting” your new employer may let you work remotely from home when the weather gets dicey and I agree with you that it can facilitate your moving to a new city.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know what you decide.
