Children’s Spiritual Sensitivities

Eric from Mountain View, CA, asked:

Hello Julie,

First off, I love your work. My mom has talked to you before and was impressed with your insights. She suggested you might be able to provide some understanding for me.

I am divorced and share 50/50 custody of my 4-year-old daughter. Several months ago, my daughter mentioned she couldn’t sleep in her room at her mom’s house because of an “icky lady.” My ex has mentioned this has happened before. My daughter sleeps fine at my place.

I believe in the spiritual realm and often feel a heaviness around my ex and her home. I wonder if my daughter is sensing an evil spirit or if it’s just her imagination. I know young children can be more perceptive to the spiritual world. Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks for reaching out and for your kind words. Your daughter’s experience sounds concerning, and it’s understandable to seek clarity on this matter.

Children are indeed more sensitive to spiritual energies, and their descriptions often reflect a deeper perception of their surroundings. The “icky lady” your daughter mentions is likely a spirit she can see, even if adults can’t.

It’s important to remember that all spirits are pure love and your daughter is completely safe. We all interpret things through our own human frame of reference, and since we’re hard-wired for fear, we can often perceive the unknown fearfully.

The “icky lady” your daughter sees is the spirit of a woman named Eloise who was her great-great-grandmother two lifetimes ago. Eloise loves your daughter and watches over her, especially when she’s at her mom’s house.

You might want to share my Angel Messages® children’s book series with your daughter. They’re beautifully illustrated picture books that can help her understand how and why she’s seeing this and perhaps other spirits.

In the meantime, trust your instincts and ensure your daughter’s comfort and safety. I hope this information brings some peace to you and your family.
