Anonymous from Brookfield, IL, asked:
Hi Julie,
I sense my HSV-1 is flaring again, and I’m feeling so many layers around it. I contracted it genitally from my husband’s cold sore years ago through oral sex, and even though I know it wasn’t my fault, I still carry this heavy shame I’m ready to release.
Someone told me that certain foods may be triggering it. Is that true?
I’m also moving through a lot of emotions. I feel frustrated and even angry that it’s returning. I can’t help but wonder if there’s some past-life or energetic residue influencing it too.
Right now, I’m taking 1,000 mg of lysine daily.
Thank you for your guidance and support.

Hi Sweet Anonymous,
Please let go of the shame, you did nothing wrong. HSV-1 is common, and flare-ups often happen when the body or emotions are processing something deeper.
Certain foods can influence flare-ups for some people, especially those higher in arginine (like nuts, chocolate, seeds) and lower in lysine. But food is only one piece of the puzzle. Stress, emotional clearing, big energetic shifts, and suppressed feelings can also activate the virus.
This flare feels like old patterns rising to be healed, perhaps involving themes of vulnerability, intimacy, boundaries, and self-worth.
I did an energetic healing on you to reduce inflammation and pain and eliminate the virus.
In the meantime, here are a few suggestions:
• Continue lysine and increase only if advised
• Hydrate well
• Reduce stress and rest more
• Temporarily avoid chocolate, nuts, seeds, caffeine
• Send healing energy to your lower abdomen
• Speak kindness to your body: “I am safe, I release this.”
Your body isn’t betraying you, it’s communicating. Something old is clearing. You’re healing, not failing.
Please consider scheduling an appointment with one of my graduates or me and we’ll have an hour to do a comprehensive physical and emotional healing with you.
Hugs,
Julie
