Every now and then, for the past 18 years, I’ve seen golden sparkles shimmering all around me, usually when I’m alone in the bathroom or shower. But the last time was different. I was gazing at the ocean, and instead of gold, the sparkles were silver. I wasn’t alone; my husband was beside me. What am I seeing? Is this my aura? The universe? Something else entirely?

Thanks for your question. I believe those golden and silver sparkles you’re seeing are high-frequency spiritual energy, often interpreted as an angelic presence, divine support, or a glimpse into other realms. Gold sparkles are commonly associated with angelic beings, healing, and divine protection. That you’ve seen them in solitude, often near water, suggests a moment of heightened receptivity where the veil between worlds is thin.
Silver sparkles, especially when witnessed in nature and in the presence of a loved one, can represent intuitive insight, cosmic alignment, or a connection with your higher self or spirit guides. The shift from gold to silver could symbolize a new phase in your spiritual journey, perhaps a blending of inner awareness (gold) with outward connection and divine reflection (silver).
It’s unlikely these sparkles are your aura, since auras are generally seen around people rather than as free-floating light. What you’re seeing sounds more like a visible manifestation of spiritual energy. It’s your spirit recognizing and receiving confirmation from the normally unseen world.
I call the sparkles Grace. In many spiritual traditions, grace is the bridge between humans and the divine. It’s a gift that flows to and through us simply because we exist. I saw it around my mother as she was dying and talk about it in my Angelic Attendants book. Here’s a link to a free copy.
