Angels and Animals

Brooke from Lawrence, MA, asked:

Hi Julie,

After losing my father on November 15th, 2022, I started searching, learning, listening, and trying to get a better understanding of things from a spiritual level. This has brought me to find you on a podcast with Dr. Amy Robbins, buy your Angelic Attendants book, and listen to your podcast.

I plan on calling on Thursdays to try to get a few minutes with you to ask about my father.

In the meantime, I’m wondering if you’ve witnessed a passing animal’s transition? Is it the same as humans? Are they surrounded by angels, and perhaps animal and human spirits?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you!

Light and love,

Brooke

Hi Brooke,

My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. I hope you found some comfort from reading my book.

As for the spiritual side of an animal’s passing, yes, I have witnessed many, including my own pets’ transitions.

It’s been my experience that like humans, an animal’s spirit exits the body through the top of the head and will stay attached during the dying process. That’s where the similarities end.

To date, I haven’t witnessed an animal being surrounded by other animal spirits, angels, or human spirits. That doesn’t mean they aren’t with those beings once they’ve transitioned, just that I don’t see it during the actively dying phase.

It’s interesting to note, however, there are many examples of animals knowing when an animal or human in their midst is dying.

For example, wild horses come to say goodbye to a dying horse in their herd, and there are many stories about elephants walking long distances in a sort of funeral procession to pay their respects to a human friend who died.

The best news however, is, our deceased pets’ spirits are always around us and we can communicate with them whenever we like.

Thanks for your question.

  1. I had a dog once that I had to give up when she was12 years old because of a very difficult situation. It broke my heart to give her up. I wasn’t able to stay in contact with her. I missed her so much. Being part greyhound, she could’ve had a long life. Anyway a few Yeats later I had a dream. I was a passenger in a car when I saw my dog running on the road ahead. She looked older with a lot of white hair’s from age. I pulled her into the car. She seemed confused. We drove to a big old house. Inside the house was a door that lead to a garden . Another dog that I’d had many years earlier, who had been my dogs best friend, but had died young was at the door waiting for Sunny to join him. As soon as she saw him she lit up & the confusion left her. He looked so happy and excited to see her. . The years melted away as they ran off together.
I like to think, from this dream, that even animals have friends and loved ones waiting for them when they pass. I always dream about my animals after they pass. They are always happy. They usually come to say good bye in my dreams. I dreamed about her again and she was so happy .

  2. My Max cat died this past July, just five weeks short of his twentieth birthday. My Benny boy, began to grieve the loss immediately, refusing to eat, crying out daily as he wandered through the house, and died three weeks later. It crushed him to lose his buddy, but crushed me to lose them both. The spirit world is unique in that, the day Benny boy died, a feral cat was caught on porch camera, just sitting there. I have never seen this cat before then. This Feral cat sits on my front porch every night, same time as if he is guarding the house, as if Max or Ben told him to guard me. I now feed him, but he will not let me come more than three feet to him. I still think he is here for a higher reason that I do not understand. I love him for the comfort he brings, even if I can only admire him through a porch camera. 😻😻😻
